Originally established in the late 1800s, the Wiecking family cigar factory once produced over 15,000 hand-rolled cigars each week using Bluffton-grown tobacco. To honor the rich history of the building, we created the Wiecking VIP Room — a private space where select members can relax and enjoy an exclusive experience.
Renovations on the historic building at 209 W. Market Street began in 2024 with a vision to create a one-of-a-kind bourbon and cigar lounge. As the space took shape, the rich history of the Wiecking cigar factory was uncovered, adding an unexpected layer of legacy to the project. What started as a fresh new chapter quickly became a tribute to Bluffton's past, blending old and new into a unique destination.
By 2025, The Bourbon MD officially opened its doors, welcoming guests to experience a new standard of bourbon, cigars, and community. With a focus on premium selections, curated events, and an atmosphere rooted in both craftsmanship and hospitality, The Bourbon MD continues to build on the rich legacy of the space — creating a place where history, quality, and connection come together.
